Timeless Wedding at JX Venue
Joe and Jenna met as many people do these days – via the internet. Jenna flew into MSP after a weekend in Texas and “matched” with Joe while waiting for her ride. Jenna’s dating profile listed 3 things you must love: dogs, hiking, and Bloody Marys. Luckily for Joe, he checked all the boxes and secured his first date with Jenna at a Wisconsin bar. They instantly clicked with each other and the rest is history. Fast forward to the present day, and it’s time for us to get these two lovebirds married!
The couple chose JX Venue, a timeless space in Stillwater with lots of rustic charm, as their wedding venue. It is such a fun location for our team to capture content in! To start off the day, BB Beauty Resort joined the ladies and perfected their hair and makeup. As the morning wrapped up, the bridesmaids put on their dresses from Azazie, the guys sported suits from The Black Tux, and Jenna slipped into her gown from The Wedding Shoppe. Everyone was looking amazing! The Studio Veil teams arrived at 12:30pm to capture the final getting ready moments before the day’s events.
Not long later, the Studio Veil team pulled the couple aside for their first look on the staircase. Once we set the couple up, we let this moment happen naturally. The couple can laugh, cry, talk, hug, or do anything they want during this time. It’s a special moment, and we’re just there to capture the love!
The couple took this opportunity to admire one another and talk about their mornings. The Studio Veil team then began taking them around the venue for portraits. Jenna’s white bouquet from Revel & Flourish was the perfect way to complete their timeless wedding looks! While they were outside for photos, they received a special visit from their pup, Wilson. We love photographing couples with their fur-babies. It truly brings out so much joy in their faces every time!
Erin and Jake (the Studio Veil Photographers on site for the day), along with the help of Jeffery (the Studio Veil Videographer), began to filter through the group photos that had been planned out prior to the day with the couple. We kept a steady, upbeat flow of portraits with the wedding party, family members, and couple. This is a process that our team has down to a science!
Around 3pm, we wrapped up photos so that Megan Amys, the couple’s coordinator, could tuck the wedding party away before guests began arriving. During this time, our team grabbed content and made sure all our gear was set up to photograph the ceremony perfectly.
As guests arrived, we took photos of their smiling faces. We filmed the anticipation, the hugs Joe shared with their wedding party, and, of course, Jenna’s grand entrance once everyone had taken their seats. Joe and Jenna opted to have their friend, Josh Amys, as their officiant. The couple shared a sweet, emotional ceremony with personal vows. Surrounded by the support of their family and friends, the couple said their I Do’s and recessed out as Mr and Mrs. What an honor it is to capture their smiling faces during these special moments!
The wedding party gathered together for a quick celebratory champagne toast before joining guests for cocktail hour. During this time we capture candids of guests socializing and celebrating, though some guests occasionally strike a pose for us!
As cocktail hour came to an end, guests began finding their seats in the reception area, which Revel & Flourish had beautifully decorated with simple florals and decor. This space truly brought their timeless wedding vision to life! The wedding party then made their grand entrance to “Forever Young” by Ellie May and Undressd. After their entrance, Jenna and Joe gave a quick thank you speech and invited guests to enjoy dinner from Bella Vida!
An hour after dinner service it was time for the couple to have what we like to call their Around the World Photo Shoot. This is when our photographers move from table to table with the couple to get photos with all their guests. This game is a fun addition to your day, but can be time-consuming and messy if not handled properly. Luckily, our team knows how to ensure this acts as a seamless part of your wedding day timeline.
Once the couple had taken a photo with every table and the excitement calmed down, it was time for speeches. They were all so heartfelt, you could easily tell how loved these two are. We were able to use many of these sweet words throughout the couple’s wedding film, which you can see for yourself HERE.
Not long after, Joe with DayOneDJ set the couple up for their first dance to “Home” by Kira. Jenna then shared a dance with her father to ‘Humble & Kind’ by Tim McGraw, and Joe danced with his mom to ‘Child of Mine’ by Carole King.
DayOneDJ then started the party and kept the dance floor packed all night. This group knew how to party and we had so much fun capturing it! Guests also used the photo booth set up by JX Venue and grabbed dessert from Best Maid Cookies.
Our coverage ended an hour after the first dance, so the Studio Veil crew said their goodbyes to the couple and sent them off to enjoy the rest of their amazing night together as husband and wife!
