A Minneapolis Event Center Wedding with Studio Veil

After couples fall in love with one another and start planning their wedding, the next thing they fall in love with is a seamless wedding planning experience! Here at Studio Veil we are a one stop shop for a variety of wedding services. When Connor and Jennifer began planning their Minneapolis Event Center wedding, they eagerly booked our team for every service we offer: photography, videography, DJ, and photo booth. We couldn’t wait to work with their other awesome vendors to pull this day together for them!

The ladies started their morning with Maven Salon and Sandy Xiong Beauty, their talented glam duo for the day. When they wrapped up hair and makeup off site, the wedding party made their way to Minneapolis Event Center (MEC). Upon arriving, they did a quick day of rehearsal with their coordinator from MEC before heading back to their respective suites to get dressed. The Studio Veil wedding photo team, Tamika and Erin, were on site and ready to photograph those last minute getting ready details. Jennifer slipped into her dress from The Wedding Shoppe, the bridesmaids put on their dusty pink dresses from Kennedy Blue, and the guys sported blue suits from Men’s Wearhouse. Everyone looked amazing!

Not long later, the Studio Veil photography duo set the couple up outside for their first look. We love the landscaping and timeless brick around Minneapolis Event Center as the backdrop to this moment!

Of course we couldn’t keep the couple from their pup, Teddy, for too long! Right after the first look he joined his parents for portraits. He was looking dapper in his very own suit!

Our team then took the couple around the venue for a variety of portraits, including the iconic backdrop of the Minneapolis skyline and Stone Arch Bridge.

Upon returning to the venue, the couple’s wedding party joined us for a few group photos. We work with our couples to ensure they have a shot list of groups they want photos with, which helps this part of the day run seamlessly!

About an hour prior to the ceremony, the Studio Veil videographer, Christine, arrived to set up her gear. Meanwhile, the photo team wrapped up group pictures so the wedding party could get tucked away before guests arrived. This also gives everyone some time to relax and take everything in before the ceremony and partying begins!

It had been raining on and off throughout the day, so Connor and Jennifer made the call to move the ceremony indoors. This is why it is so important that your backup rain plan is also a location you are happy with. Luckily, The View at Minneapolis Event Center has a beautiful indoor space with historic brick that gives an elevated rustic feel. The floral arch installation from Bachman’s helped soften the space and added a wonderful pop of color. Every detail perfectly set the scene for the lovely ceremony that Rev. Debra Ting officiated for Connor and Jennifer!

As guests dispersed around the space for cocktail hour, they were also met with the Studio Veil photo booth. Connor and Jennifer opted to rent our photo booth as a fun reception activity for their guests. Everyone throughly enjoyed it! Guests love being able to take a keepsake home with them and document their time at your wedding.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, our wedding photography duo was busy ensuring that we wrapped up the couple’s shot list with family photos at the ceremony site. As soon as we were finished, the couple joined their guests to enjoy the second half of the cocktail hour.

Not long after, guests made their way to their seats for dinner. The couple kept the reception decor relatively simple with a few touches from Bachman’s and items they provided. Minneapolis Event Center pre-plated the salads, which guests were eager to dive into as they were seated!

DJ Joshua from Studio Veil pumped up the crowd for the wedding party’s grand entrance before everyone enjoyed a delicious meal from Minneapolis Event Center.To wrap up dinner, the Studio Veil DJ helped coordinate speeches from various guests. Our team always has fun being included in this part, as it really unifies everyone with emotion.

Our photographer team then pulled the couple aside for a quick cake cutting. After sharing a bite of their first cake slice as a married couple, guests flooded the dessert table to enjoy the array of treats from MEC.

Now it was officially time for the first dance! We had a full team engaged for this: photo, video, and DJ. The Studio Veil crew had been looking forward to this moment as the couple had a choreographed first dance. It was so fun to watch and even more exciting to capture! The couple followed this dance with both traditional parent dances.

DJ Joshua then opened up the dance floor to everyone for an anniversary dance. This is when all of the couples take to the dance floor, and the DJ starts calling out anniversary years. The couple who has been together the longest is the final duo left on the dance floor. Connor and Jennifer opted to give these lovebirds the bride’s bouquet. It was such a memorable touch!

Everyone delighted as they joined together to celebrate Connor and Jennifer for the remainder of the evening. Lorenz Bus Service arrived at the end of the night with a limo to safely transport the wedding party in style. It was an awesome day!
