We polled our fabulous readers on Facebook and asked what they wanted to hear about. They wanted to know how to keep focus on the marriage because in the end, it’s just a wedding.

It’s easy to get carried away while planning a wedding, especially in today’s day in age with Pinterest and social media constantly at our fingertips. We see what’s out there in cyberspace and think that we have to do that or one up it. We tend to lose focus on what’s truly important. The marriage.
Now don’t freak out on me just yet. I think the wedding is important, in fact it will probably be one of the best days of your life, but at the end of the day, it’s done and your are married to the one you love and that’s what truly matters.
My top 3 tips for keeping focus on the marriage during wedding planning
3. Make it uniquely you, as a couple. The wedding is a celebration of your marriage! Make it a reflection of the two of you! Incorporate things into the service that represent you as a couple.
2. Reflect and Dream. When planning your wedding reflect on the reasons you feel in love and dream about what your future will hold. This will help keep the focus on what’s to come after the wedding celebration.
1. Most importantly, take time. Take time as a couple to enjoy each other’s presence…and sometimes, just sometimes put down the seating chart and the registry gun and have a fun date without wedding talk.
Enjoy planning your wedding, enjoy your wedding day, and most important enjoy the new life you are starting together as Mr. & Mrs.
