When I was in 3rd grade, I knew what I was going to be when I grew up…a business owner. Ever since I can remember, the idea of working for myself just made sense. It wasn’t until 2005, however, that I began to understand what that would look like. As photography and videography had become hobbies of mine and friends/co-workers asked me to work their weddings, it was a natural progression and one that still excite me every day as Studio Veil continues to grow, both in size and quality.
While Studio Veil is a big part of my life, it’s not everything. My faith and my family are most important to me. Allie (my wife) and I are active in our church by volunteering as leaders in the senior high youth group and ushering on Sundays. In fact, we actually met at the young adults group at our church back 2007. I have previously served on the worship team as a drummer and audio tech. We both have large families and love getting together on the major holidays. Christmas gets particularly busy, doing three celebrations/meals/gift openings with three different sides of the family in a 10 hour period!
Little more about me as a person? I enjoy watching and playing several sports including football, basketball, soccer, bowling and baseball (but only in person at the ball park). Over the last three football seasons, I’ve become a fantasy football junkie. Allie & I are currently in an adoption process and we’re excited to become parents for the first time in the near (hopefully near) future. I recently took up woodworking and worked with my dad to create a new dining room table for our house. I’m now looking to tackle some furniture for the baby room and some other pieces around the house. I love ice cream more than anyone should. Every August/September you can find me at the great Minnesota get-together…the State fair! Nothing beats a deep fried milky way candy bar on a hot day, followed by all you can drink milk.
Bottom line, I love my family and I love what I do for work. As a photographer, videographer, DJ, photo booth attendant, and CEO, every day presents new challenges and I’m never bored. When work is done, I like to unwind with Allie, family, and our two dogs…and I can’t wait to be a dad!
