Studio Veil Spotlight ft. Double Tree Hilton
I had SO much fun with Adena & Jana seeing Double Tree Hilton Downtown St. Paul and having lunch at the Rival House (seriously, the food is INCREDIBLE). Tell me about DoubleTree:
“We have 251 guest rooms and 12,500 sq feet of meeting space. We have an awesome Rival House restaurant on site serving up local craft beers and wood fire pizza. It also has a private dining room perfect for that fun rehearsal dinner spot.”
Tell me about your positions at Double Tree:
“I (Adena) am the Director of Catering. I have been on property for about seven years and in the catering role for just over four. In my time here at Doubletree I have executed over 150 weddings! I handle all large social events as well as any corporate over 40 people.
Jana, our Executive Meeting Manager has been here for just over a year and assists with large groups as well as handles her own market segment of 40 people or less meeting space.”
What’s included in your rental cost?
“What you see is what you get with our very affordable rental of only $1,500. Tables, chairs, linen, glass, china, silver, stages, dance floor and even our piano come included in our rental. No hidden costs.”
What sets you apart from other hotel venues in the area?
“What sets us apart from other hotels is our amazing 11 story glass window set in our 4,000 sq. foot Atrium space It gives you an “outdoor” feel while still being inside, tons of natural light for unique photo ops.”
ADDED NOTE FROM SHANIA: Also the Rival House – it’s so unique and I’m not lying when I say the food is INCREDIBLE! Not something you normally see in a hotel restaurant.
What are some of your goals for the 2019/2020 year?
“Some goals for this upcoming year are to launch our new catering menu featuring some contemporary spins on classic dishes have more engaging actions stations for clients featuring things such as mashed potato bars, and walking tacos, and we’re also looking to increase our weddings by 20% brining us to right around 25 or so a year.”
If you could give one piece of advice to someone looking to get into this industry, what would it be?
“Always except the unexpected in events. Be ahead, think like a client would think.”
