I was thinking for a long time about what I would do differently about my wedding day and my mind went totally blank. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that the light bulb went off. The biggest thing I would change doesn’t even have to do with the actual wedding day, but post wedding. I think because so much time, energy and planning goes into your big day, things that happen after the wedding fall through the cracks, or at least it did for us.
I have been married to my best friend for just about 4 years and we still don’t have a wedding album!!!
My biggest redo would be to make that a priority after the wedding. Yeah, we have some 4×6 prints collaged on the wall, but I completely missed my opportunity so far to have a nice wedding album to show off to all my family and friends.
Oh, and…
I also haven’t touched my wedding dress since the wedding. It’s still zipped up in the plastic bag, hanging in my closet, and taking up a lot of room I might add! I’m a little afraid to open it because I don’t know the status of my dress. I should have preserved it. Hopefully one day my daughter will want to use it. (Hopefully one day I’ll have a daughter ☺). But I’m not under the illusion that she’ll wear my dress at her wedding, but maybe she’ll want to incorporate the lace or tulle.
So when your wedding day is over, don’t forget to tie up those loose ends. Get a wedding album and do something with your dress!
